Product Lifecycle Policy

Version 1.1 · Last updated: 12 July 2026 · Guv1 Digital
In short: Digital products evolve over time. Some Products receive frequent improvements, some enter a maintenance phase, and some eventually become Legacy Products. This policy explains what each stage means for you.

Lifecycle Stages

Active

Currently in development. May receive new features, improvements, bug fixes, and updates.

Maintenance

Remains supported. Receives significant bug fixes and compatibility updates. Fewer new features.

Legacy

No longer actively developed. May continue to function. Updates and compatibility not guaranteed.

Active Products

An Active Product is currently receiving ongoing development and investment. During the Active stage, we may provide new features, improvements, bug fixes, compatibility updates, documentation improvements, and customer support. Not every Product will receive updates at the same frequency — update schedules depend on the nature of the Product and customer needs.

Maintenance Products

A Maintenance Product remains supported but receives more limited development. During the Maintenance stage, we generally focus on fixing significant bugs, addressing important compatibility issues where practical, and maintaining existing functionality. Maintenance Products may receive fewer updates and fewer new features than Active Products.

Legacy Products

A Legacy Product is one that Guv1 Digital has designated as no longer actively developed. Legacy Products may continue to function and may remain available to existing customers. However:

Customers may continue using Legacy Products according to their original licence terms unless those rights are otherwise terminated under the Terms of Use.

Product Availability

Guv1 Digital may continue selling a Product, stop selling a Product, remove a Product from availability, or move a Product between lifecycle stages. A Product's availability does not necessarily determine its lifecycle stage. For example, a Product may remain available for purchase while in Maintenance, or remain available for existing customers after becoming Legacy.

Updates

Updates may include feature improvements, bug fixes, security improvements, compatibility changes, and documentation updates. Updates are provided at Guv1 Digital's discretion and may depend on the Product, technical limitations, and available resources. The availability of updates does not guarantee that every Product will remain compatible with future technology changes.

Data Retention and Legacy Products

Information about how Guv1 Digital handles personal information, including retention periods relating to Legacy Products, is described in our Privacy Policy. In general, we retain registration and support information for up to five (5) years after a Product enters Legacy status, unless legal obligations require longer retention.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Product Lifecycle Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the version number and "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
